Bags for Help - Under subscribed in Powys!
Bags of Help is a partnership between Groundwork UK and Tesco UK using the money from the 5p levy on plastic bags to give back to communities across the UK. The fund is £7000 every six weeks split into £4000, £2000, £1000 grants. In Powys they are under subscribed with groups and organisations applying for the fund. This is also open to councils, community councils etc.
The Bags for Help is a rolling programme, voting for projects will be happening continuously in Tesco stores. Three projects from each of the regions will be shortlisted to go to the public vote every 2 months. If your project gets the most votes across all stores in your local region, you will win the amount you requested from Bags for Help up to a maximum of £4,000. The second placed project will receive £2,000 and the third placed project will receive £1,000.
Applicants will generally know the outcome of their application within 6 months of applying. However, if your application is eligible, but not funded at the first attempt, your application may be deferred to the next funding panel.
Please note - you will be contacted in this instance to ensure that you are happy for your application to be deferred.
