Big Lottery

People and Places programme outline proposal forms deadline extended until October 2009. 

 Heritage Lottery Fund will withdraw from the Awards for All Wales programme at the end of March 2009

Lottery Funding is a joint website run by all Lottery funders in the UK. The site allows you to search information on current funding programmes across the UK.

The Big Lottery Fund offers a range of grants to organisations:

Awards for All

Awards for All Wales is a grants programme set up to help small groups. It is supported by Big Lottery Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The aim of this programme is to fund projects which involve people in their local community, bringing them together to take part in and enjoy a wide range of heritage, charitable, health, educational, environmental and other community activities.

Minimum grant - £500      Maximum grant - £5000

Open for applications from 7th June 1999.

People and Places

People and Places aims to bring people together to make their communities stronger and to improve their rural and urban environments. This programme will support people working together to make their communities better places to live. There is a total of £66 million available.

Minimum grant - £5001      Maximum grant - £1 million

Young People Fund: Make It Happen

Make it Happen will give out £1 million in Wales for projects, activities and equipment that will make a difference to young people aged 10-19 years old. The programme will operate throughout Wales and the Big Lottery welcome applications from all sectors of the community.  Only groups working with young people can apply.

Minimum grant - £500      Maximum grant - £5000

Research Programme

The Big Lottery Fund will provide up to £25 million in the UK over 2007-2009 to fund social and medical research grants in the UK. The aim of the Research Programme will be to influence local and national policy and practice by funding the Third Sector to produce and disseminate evidence, will aim to help develop better services and interventions for beneficiaries. Only organisations from the voluntary and community sector will be eligible to apply for funding.

This programme is going to be delivered for the Big Lottery Fund by Momenta. Momenta works for the public sector to turn policy into practice by offering a range of programme management services, including research management, knowledge transfer, best practice, fund management and behaviour change programme.
