This course has been designed specifically to provide a basic level of knowledge on food and nutrition for those working with key groups in the community. The course is open to anyone who works with children, young people and families in the community. They training is however open to groups with mixed age ranges as long as there are poeple using the group that are under 25.
The course is accredited by The Open College Network at a Level 2 (equiv to GCSE, NVQ2, Intermediate GNVQ). The course is made up of 10 sessions (2 hours per session). These sessions can be delivered to suit the needs of the group i.e. delivered over 5 weeks with one morning and one afternoon session. Each session will focus on a different aspect of food and nutrition and will involve learning via interactive games, quizzes and general discussion.
The course will be delivered in various locations throughout Powys. Tea and coffee will be provided for you at each of the sessions. The course is available for approximately £15 per person.
