The Real Value of the Sector working with Children & Young People
PAVO has taken on the role to find out the real value that third sector organisations contribute towards the outcomes for children and young people.
What are we aiming to do and why?
• Gather data which shows the value of the sector in terms of money and resources eg: funding and volunteer time
• Show how the activities of community groups/voluntary organisations help to make positive changes for individuals and communities.
This will help:
• To contribute towards planning services, effectively, across the whole of Powys
• Your organisation when planning your own services and applying for funding.
The data collected will be analysed with the aim to demonstrate the economic and social value of the third sector in Powys. Access to the full data will be available only to the core project team. The collated and analysed will be available publicly.
How to complete the questionnaire
It may be more appropriate for another person within your organisation to complete different parts of the questionnaire and this is possible.
If you cannot respond to a question please leave it blank but please complete as many questions as possible. You may wish to only answer part of the questionnaire.
The questionnaire covers the following areas:
Section A: Your Organisations Details (mandatory)
Section B: The People you Provide Services for (mandatory)
Section C: Staff/Volunteer Information (optional)
Section D: Financial Information (optional)
Section E: The differences you Make to your Community (optional)
If your organisation is part of a group structure or branch of a larger organisation, please answer the questions on behalf of your branch operating in Powys.

There are currently many reports on the state of Child Poverty across the UK, including Wales and rural areas. We need to find out what organisations are doing to help reduce the effects of child poverty in Powys. To do this, the Strategic Partnerships in Powys are using a self-assessment process which has been designed by Save the Children.
If you would like to take part in this mapping exercise please complete the templates and return to: Yvonne Owen-Newns, PAVO offices in Llandrindod Wells or email: yvonne.owennewns@pavo.org.uk

Powys will have six Local Resource Solution Panels (LRSP) to help families get the best response from local services for children and young people.
Most children and families who need additional support can obtain it through one of the professionals working in a school or community health setting.
Sometimes additional help is needed from a service with more specialist knowledge; sometimes help from more than one agency needs to be co-ordinated.
The panels meet every month and have representatives from all of the main agencies working with children and young people in your area. Members of the panel are well informed about all of the support services for children and young people in your area .They will discuss the information provided on the referral form and give the professional person who has made the referral advice on the best way to help. The panels can also refer the child or family to other services and appoint a lead professional to make sure that the work with the family is co-ordinated in the most effective way.
