Gweithdy Estyn Llaw Workshop

Developing Bilingualism in the 3rd Sector

Estyn Llaw, which roughly translates as 'helping hand' offers practical support and guidance to voluntary and community organisations wishing to increase their use of Welsh in order to offer their service users a comprehensive language choice.

  • What are the expectations faced by 3rd sector organisations in terms of offering services bilingually after winning contracts or securing grant funding?
  • Is there any support available in order to assist organisations to meet these requirements?

Join Estyn Llaw for a workshop that will consider these issues, with contributions from Gethin Edwards, the Welsh Language Board and Sian Jones, the Big Lottery Fund. There will also be an opportunity to discuss recent developments including the 3rd Sector Compact and the Code of Practice for Funding the 3rd Sector.

The workshop will be held at:

Sbardun Unit (WCVA tent), Blaenau Gwent National Eisteddfod 2010

Friday 6th August 2010 11am to 12pm

Simultaneous translation facilities will be available.
